M134 Mini Gun Fires 4000 Rounds Per Minute

The M134 Mini Gun is the baddest machine other than it’s cousin the 40mm GAU-8/A Avenger gun on the A-10. There is nothing mini about the M134 though. It fires the 308 NATO or 7.62 x 51 and at a staggering 4,000 rounds per minute. It is absolutely devastating in the field. It was used in Vietnam and changed the war. The Mini Gun has 6 rotating barrels and an electric motor that spins the barrels. It is incredible to watch in action.

Squad Automatic Weapon M249 or SAW

The Navy Seals have used the Squad Automatic Weapon or SAW M249 for quite a while and for good reason….it is devastating. The M249 is a 5.56 Nato light machine gun that fires at a rate of 750 – 1000 rpm. It is belt fed or magazine fed. It weighs a little over 20 lbs but is still considered a light machine gun. It’s easy to field strip and clean. The M249 SAW is manufactured in the USA but is of an FN design.
