The UTG 3-12 x 42 mm scope is not a light weight scope…it’s pretty heavy and this is why it can take some punishment and still maintain zero. So if you want a light weight scope then this is not for you. But if you want something that is well built and rugged, then you should seriously consider it. It’s a great scope for tactical purposes and hunting. If you want to read some of the 127, 4 star reviews.
I’m looking for a scope for my newly ordered H&R Ultra Slug Hunter shotgun and I ran across the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot. I was thinking about a red dot scope because they are great for quick sight acquisition and long eye relief. Eye relief on a 12 gauge slug gun is pretty important. I had a red dot scope on my .416 Rigby rifle and it was great.
Anyway the Bushnell Red Dot looks nice and the price is great but is it a good one that will last? I looked at the reviews (amazon.com) and wow!!! 704 reviews with an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. Everyone that bought one was surprised how good it is for the low price. Aimpoints and Eotechs are much more expensive.
Here are the specifications:

11 red dot brightness settings
Sturdy Weaver or Picatinny mount
3 MOA red dot
100% waterproof.fogproof/shockproof construction

The positive reviews certainly made it easy for me to chose the Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot scope. Bushnell makes some really high quality optics. I used to think they were cheap and poor quality. I was Wrong.
The perfect addition to any AR-15…a Pulsar Digital Night Vision scope. Tactical ops cannot be complete without night maneuvers right? A night vision scope makes it happen.
The Pulsar Digital Night Vision 550R scope is a reasonably priced night vision scope and very good quality too. It features fine image quality and high resolution. It can be used day or night unlike what most people think. There are multiple switchable reticles for flexibility and a 5 lens eyepiece which produces a spectacular image. The 550R is equipped with an integrated video recorder to capture image observations.
The EoTech EXPS3-4 Holographic Weapon Sight with G33FTS Magnifier is an advanced weapon sighting system adopted by U.S. Special Forces Command or SOCOM. This is the standard close quarter battle weapon optic. This really says it all about this sight. If the US Special Forces chose this optic for their standard then it has to be the best there is.
EoTech EXPS3-4 Features
- 65 MOA ring with four 1 MOA dots
- Quick detach mount lever for 1″ weaver base and picatinny rail
- 10 brightness settings
- Return to zero repeatability to within 2 MOA

The Burris Fastfire III sight is designed for quick target acquisition at close range. It is well suited for both rifles like the AR-15 and shotguns. The Fastfire is a very rugged sight and is able to withstand bumps and scrapes without failure. It is ideal for both hunting and tactical situations and offers either a 3 MOA or 8 MOA dot. The Burris Fastfire is completely waterproof and super light weight. It mounts on either a picatinny rail or weaver scope mounts.
Burris makes excellent optics and has for many years. Burris is known for quality sighting equipment.
Red dot sights are becoming more popular because of the sighting nature. It’s much easier and faster to place a red dot on a target than crosshairs. Crosshairs require thinking where as a red dot does not. When game stops for a fraction of a second, a red dot sight allows a quick no-thinking response and usually an on-target shot.
The Aimpoint Micro H-1 red dot sight has a 2 MOA red dot which is smaller than a fox’s head at 100 yards. That’s pretty small yet very visible. The Aimpoint Micro H-1 is battery operated and has a battery life of 5 years of constant use.
Law enforcement and hunters alike use the Aimpoint Micro red dot sight because of it’s instinctive sighting nature. Placing a red dot on a target is instinctive and happens very fast. No other sighting is as quick as a red dot sight.
